Book Review – Garden of Eden by Terri Burnell

Garden of Eden

Garden of Eden by Terri Burnell is a beautifully illustrated story about two children, Andrew and Shelby, and their adventures as God allows them to view the Garden of Eden. Who among us hasn’t wondered what it would be like to spend time in God’s perfect garden before sin came into the world? This story takes children on a journey to tour that spectacular place.

Terri has taken an interesting subject and made it understandable for kids. The characters are convincing and I love how scripture from the Bible is woven throughout the book. The kids start out facing real life concerns and issues, and learn more about God and their relationship to God as they take a trip back in time to the Garden of Eden. My five year-old enjoyed reading this book before bedtime over a couple of evenings. She connected to the characters and I enjoyed the questions that it raised as she learned more about who God is.

Thank you, Terri, for the opportunity to read this book. I look forward to more to come.
