Corinthians, Day 6
What were you and what are you now? Read 1 Corinthians 6.
As Paul continues, he goes on to explain that we should not be putting ourselves under the judgment of the world. We should be able, as believers in Christ, to get together with other believers and solve any disputes. Paul then lists all the reasons people who are not believers are not worthy to judge. Then he makes the statement that this is what “some of you were.”
Before we come to Christ, we werre sinners. We were terrible, sinful people who regularly did evil things. However, Christ died for us and through his sacrifice we can be made right with God. We were all these things, but we aren’t these things any more.
Are we celebrating that we are no longer in slavery to the sins we held before? We were… but now we are a child of God.
