Corinthians, Day 9

Are we running to win? What is our goal and focus as we go through each and every day? Paul gives us some ideas as we read 1 Corinthians 9.

Paul had worked very hard to establish credibility with the people he was they’re speaking with. And he had it! Paul could explain why he was given the authority to say the things that he was saying. And then he issues this challenge: run the race in such a way that you will win. Paul is referring to the race of the Christian life.

Every day we get up and we make progress down the path that God has set before us and the question is, are we doing our very best to run the race that God has set before us? Are we staying focused and are we deliberately and intentionally taking steps down the path that God has for us? Or, are we just floating through life and waiting to see what will happen? God wants our life to be an intentional life of obedience toward him. Our race is one that we run with focus and with discipline so that we can be victorious in every area that God places before us. As we run our race today, are we running in such a way that we will win?
