“Sold yourself to do evil.” That is a very telling phrase and it is the reason that Elijah gives for why he has found Ahab. Read 1 Kings 21:20.

Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” And he answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord .

God has told Elijah to go find Ahab and to tell him that he is going to be judged for his evil and will be killed. When he comes up to Ahab, Ahab calls Elijah the enemy. However, Elijah very clearly indicates that the enemy is actually anyone who does evil in the sight of the Lord.

Do we get mad at others when they confront us with the truth of God? Or do we recognize the true enemies that we face as anyone who is doing evil? Don’t ever confuse who the enemies are that we face. It can be hard to remember who we are actually facing and what we are actually fighting. Don’t get caught up fighting and arguing with each other and lose sight of who we are really facing as an enemy.
