Christian Devotional – August 8, 2014

Read 1 John chapter 5

VERSE:

1 John 5:19–We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

TRUTH:

We are children of God, yet we are living in the enemy’s camp. It can be very easy to get complacent and to let down our guard, but that is when we will be attacked. Our whole world is under Satan’s control and if we do not guard ourselves, we will find ourselves falling into the trap of relying on the world and not on God. We are children of God. We must stay focused on our Father and on His desires.

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You and lift You up for allowing me to be called Your child. I will never forget that my day to day life is lived in the camp of the enemy. Help me keep up my guard so I am not pulled down by the enemy.
