Read Judges chapter 16

VERSE:

Judges 16:20–The she said, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.

TRUTH:

To me, this is one of the saddest verses in the Bible. The idea that Samson, a man used mightily by God would get to the place where he wouldn’t even realize that God was not with him is so incredibly sad. We must be careful not to fall into the same trap. We go through our day each day and just move from one thing to the next, but do we recognize the presence of God in our lives? God wants to make a difference in our lives, not just observe from afar. If we are not actively seeking Him and allowing Him to move in our lives how will we know if He is not there? We must be seeking Him and His presence and guidance in our lives daily.

RESPONSE:

Father, You are an integral part of my life. I love You and I desire that You move through me every day. I want to feel Your presence so that I would recognize when things aren’t as they should be and correct them. I love our relationship together and I desire to be with You and You with me every day.
