Read Genesis chapter 4

VERSE:

Genesis 4:7–If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.

TRUTH:

The simple question that is asked is still very profound. If you do right, will you not be accepted? God reminds us that we haveĀ  choice to make and that choice affects our relationship with God. If we look down the path of sin, then we need to understand that sin desires not just to be part of our life, but to rule in our life. If we give an opening to sinful thoughts or deeds, then that sin will always want more and more of us until it rules over us. We cannot allow sin to have even a small part of our life, for it will always be creeping around looking for an opportunity to take more.

RESPONSE:

Father, cleanse me. I confess my sins and desire to have no part in anything sinful in my life. Help me to loosen any tiny hold that sin has over me so that I can give You complete rule in my life. Thank You for all that You are doing and have done in my life.
