No boasting. No matter what we do, there is nothing that we do which is worthy of us boasting about it. Read Galatians 6:11-14.

See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. Those who desire to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh. But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Paul is driving hone his point about the importance of trusting in Christ for our salvation. The people who keep telling others that they had to fulfill the lease in order to be truly saved are simply boosting about something that is their own works. Yet our works fall short of God’s standards.

We have nothing to boast about. The only thing that is good about us is what we have allowed God to have control over and to work through. Are we’re boasting in our own “strength” or only in God’s strength?
