What’s the difference between the blessed person and the wicked person? This question is the basis for Psalm 1. As you read through that chapter, this verse stands out.

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalms 1:3 NASB

As it is referring to the blessed person, we can see some of the benefits of living a life focused on obedience to God. While some of the chapter deals with a direct comparison between the blessed and wicked, this verse explains specifically some of the upside of choosing to live in obedience. One statement in there that really stands or to me is that the person yields fruit in its season. I love the reminder that even while living in obedience to God, there is still a season of bearing fruit. Just because we are obedient doesn’t mean that we will experience all straight and easy paths full of fruit. Fruit comes in its season. We are to be obedient, regardless of tge season, knowing that when the time is right, we will see the fruit that God has been preparing us for.

Regardless of what season you are in right now, continue to be obedient to God knowing that He is the One responsible for causing the fruit in its season.
