The story of the Prodigal Son is one that many people know and have read many times. Looking at Luke 15:11-32 we see this story in its detail. It is always such an amazing time to read this verse:

So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

The son had treated his father as if he was dead and yet the father was watching and waiting for his son. When he came he treated his son as if he was the most special and important person ever. This is the same way that the Father receives us when we are willing to turn to Him. We have dined against the Father and because of our sin we have been separated from Him. But we can be made right with Him if we will return to Him and will humble ourselves and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on behalf of our sins. Do we need to be forgiven? He stands ready to forgive if we will just come to Him.
