Read Proverbs chapter 30

VERSE:

Proverbs 30:8-9–Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, “Who is the Lord?” Or I may become poor and steal and so dishonor the name of my God.

TRUTH:

Would we have the courage to pray this? Many of us have asked God to bless us financially, yet this shows us the danger of having riches. It’s easy to put our faith and trust in the riches instead of God. There is similar danger in being poor and destitute. Do we pray asking God to give us only what we need in every situation and circumstance of life?

RESPONSE:

Father, You have everything and I desire to honor You with what You’ve given me. Provide for me just enough so that I will continue to glorify You. You know what I can handle and I am content to have only what You desire for me to have.
