VERSE:
Leviticus 22:32–You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be sanctified among the sons of Israel; I am the Lord who sanctifies you.

TRUTH:
Two related ideas jump out of this verse. The first, God’s name is Holy and is to be treated as Holy. We are not to profane His name. The second, God is the one who sanctifies us. We do not make ourselves clean and whole. Even in that time, just offering sacrifices did not make the people clean, God did that. He chose to have the people sacrifice to show their obedience to Him. If they followed His instructions then He would choose to accept the offering and cleanse the person. The ability to cleanse and make whole is still God’s alone.

RESPONSE:
Father, I will choose to keep Your name holy in both my thoughts and speech today. I will also rely on You to cleanse me and make me whole, for only You are able to do that. I can’t do it myself.
