VERSE:

Jeremiah 14:21–For the sake of your name do not despise us; do not dishonor your glorious throne. Remember your covenant with us and do not break it.

TRUTH:

Jeremiah is pleading with the Lord for mercy even though the people have been wicked. Why? The Lord has a covenant with the people and He must remember and honor that covenant along with maintaining the glory of His name. Do we focus on the honor and glory due the name of the Lord? Even as God is faithful to His commitment to us, are we faithful to our commitment to Him? Do we appeal to Him for the sake of His name and the desire to see it glorified throughout the earth?

RESPONSE:

Father, Your name is greater than all other names and You desire all glory and honor. I pray that You will act however is necessary in my life so that Your name is glorified! Please work in me to bring about Your glory in and through my life.
