Christian Devotional – June 1, 2016

Read Hebrews chapter 5

VERSE:

Hebrews 5:12–In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk not solid food!

TRUTH:

How long have you been a follower of Jesus Christ? How long ago did you surrender Your life and Your heart to Him? Many people will talk about the number of years that they have been following Jesus Christ, but that just tells you how long you have been on the right path, not how far you have gotten down the road. Here, the author tells the people that they have been on the path a long time, but they’ve not moved much and are still as immature in their faith as they were when they first surrendered their lives to Christ. How about us? Have we moved? Are we actively seeking the truths of God so that we may grow more and more in His likeness every day?

RESPONSE:

Father, I want to learn and grow in grace and knowledge of You as I seek You each and every day. I know that I have such a long way to go, but I also know that You are the best teacher! Help me to continue to learn and grow each and every day to be more like You and not get stagnant and complacent where I am.
