Sin sticks. Sometimes we feel like our sins or something that can be easily brushed off and overlooked. Paul is very clear that is not the case. Read 1 Timothy 5:23-25

No longer drink water exclusively, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments. The sins of some men are quite evident, going before them to judgment; for others, their sins follow after. Likewise also, deeds that are good are quite evident, and those which are otherwise cannot be concealed.

Some basic general advice here, Paul wants people to understand that some sins are very obvious to people. When we see some people, it’s very easy to see how Satan tempts them and the sins that they are caught up in in their life. However, other people are much better at concealing their sin. They are tempted and fall in ways that are not easily evident to others. However, that doesn’t change the fact that their sin sticks with them.

We must repent of sin. Repentance and God’s cleansing are the only ways we can be free of sin. Are we bringing our sin to God? Do we desire to be cleansed from it, or do we just try to hide it? Only through Jesus Christ can we find freedom and peace and forgiveness of sin.
