Possessions. We tend to think a lot of them. We often judge our own worth and success as well as the worth and success of others by them. See what Paul says in 1 Timothy 6:5-7.
and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.
Contentment. We brought nothing in and we will take nothing out so that which should bring us godliness and contentment is God, and only Him.
As we look around our life, can we truly say that we’re only content with God, or do we get distracted by the things this world trues to offer us? The only thing that will last is God and those people who have made the decision to follow Him. How are we growing his Kingdom today? Are we trying to accumulate things or are we seeking our sense of success and worth only in Jesus Christ?
