Christian Devotional – March 22, 2013

VERSE:

2 Chronicles 21:6–He followed the ways of the king of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for he had married a daughter of Ahab. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord.

TRUTH:

Jehoshaphat was a good king who followed God, but had tolerated a friendship with the evil king Ahab of Israel. Unfortunately, his son Jehoram didn’t follow after his father, but instead after his father’s friend. We must be wary of the things we tolerate and permit to be around us, for the next generation sees what we allow. The things one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace. What are we tolerating in our life and in society that is sinful?

RESPONSE:

Father, help me never to tolerate sin, but to takeĀ a stand against it. You are the one I am devoted to and I will love You and You only so that my children will be encouraged to seek and love You and You only.
