Understanding. In a flash, Naomi started to see the path that God was moving her and Ruth down. Like standing outside and getting the light to see by from a flash of lightning, Naomi caught a quick glimpse and all of a sudden, her entire thought process started to change. Read Ruth 2:20.

Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May he be blessed of the Lord who has not withdrawn his kindness to the living and to the dead.” Again Naomi said to her, “The man is our relative, he is one of our closest relatives.”

Now, to us reading this here in this day and time, this may not mean as much. But to those people reading then, they understood the importance of a kinsman redeemer. This close relative was someone who could save them from their situation and shame. In a flash, Naomi is starting to see where God was heading and what He was doing. By bringing this kinsman redeemer into her life, they saw that God had not abandoned them and had not forgotten them.

Do we trust God, even when all we have to work with is just a flash of understanding? God has the bigger picture, but we have to trust him to be in control of that. Will we trust Him today?
