Read Psalm chapter 131

VERSE:

Psalm 1311–My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.

TRUTH:

Interestingly enough, this is not a statement that is encouraged in today’s society. We encourage people to seek things that are great and higher. We try to move ourselves into positions in this world where we will be higher up and more advanced. God wants us to be concerned about this world, but the way we do that is to be concerned about God. As we are focused on Him, we will see the things around us that He is concerned about and we will be able to act accordingly. Do we simply consider ourselves servants of God who will do what He says? Anything else will having us moving towards pride in our hearts.

RESPONSE:

Father, I am Your servant. I will do what You say and I will focus on what You have for me to focus on. I praise You and I will concern myself only with You and what You desire. You love the entire world around me and I pray that You will use me to demonstrate that love to the world today.
