Where does progress and success come from? God is the one who causes growth and prosperity. See Psalm 65.

You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; The stream of God is full of water; You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth.

God is the one who is responsible for the growth and prosperity that the earth experiences. Similarly, he is responsible for the growth and prosperity that we experience as individuals. Do we seek it from him and do we thank him for all that he does on our behalf? He prepares everything in its time and season, even us.
