James 417–If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin form them.
Often we try to forget about this verse. But there it is, reminding us that if we know the right things to do in a situation, then we are to do them. If we choose not to do those things, then we are sinning. Sin is not just about doing something wrong, it is also about not doing something right. How often do we ignore the gentle promptings of the Spirit each day and fail to reach out and help those around us. What good do we know we ought to do? Are we doing it?
Father, I praise You and thank You for all that You have done for me. Keep me focused on the good things that You would have me do and help me to listen to the gentle prompting of the Spirit today as You show me other ways in which I can be doing the good You have for me to do.
