Read 1 Corinthians chapter 4

VERSE:

1 Corinthians 4:5–Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

TRUTH:

We must be careful not to assume we know the motivations of other people. There will come a time when all hidden things, including all motives, will be made known. We should give grace to others, realizing that we don’t know their motives. We should also examine our own motives, realizing that at some point all will be revealed. Would we want the motives for our actions, our true motives, revealed in front of Christ and others? Remember, all things hidden in darkness will be revealed one day.

RESPONSE:

Father, keep my motives pure and focused on You. I want to give others the benefit of the doubt, knowing that only You know the true motives behind people’s actions. I will focus on myself and my motives today, keeping them in line with Your will, so that I may receive Your praise.
