VERSE:

Exodus 17:3–But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

TRUTH:

How quickly we forget! The people had been begging and pleading with God to get out of Egypt, now at the first sign of trouble, they want to go back. All of a sudden it’s Moses’ fault for leading them out of Egypt and God’s fault for miraculously delivering them. When God delivers us, He doesn’t abandon us. This is not a one-time intervention by God. We can always trust Him to be with us and walk with us as we go through these difficulties that we will inevitably encounter along the path He has for us. We can rely on Him in each situation and not just for a one-time deliverance.

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that You see and care about the day-to-day and not just the one-time issues. I will trust You to be there every time and not turn my back on You or assume You don’t care just because I experience difficulties in my life.
