Read Romans chapter 12

VERSE:

Romans 12:12–Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

TRUTH:

These three commands are very simply stated and very straightforward, yet they can be some of the most difficult things to do. Hope is where we are trusting in something that hasn’t happened yet, but that we are confident will. We are to be joyful in our expectation of what will come. Affliction can be any type of difficulty, trial, persecution, or the like. We are to be patient as we go through and endure these things. Finally, prayer is our conversation with God and we are to be constantly diligent to speak with Him all times and in every opportunity. Would these describe us? If not, repent and ask His help today to become more like them.

RESPONSE:

Father, these describe the way I want to be, but not always the way I am. I know that You are able to give me all that I need to do what You’ve commanded me to do and I pray that will happen here. Help me to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. I praise You for all that You are doing.
