Read 2 Kings chapter 19

VERSE:

2 Kings 19:19–Now, the Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.

TRUTH:

Why should God help us? When we cry out to God asking for his help and to either give us something or fix something, what is the reason we are asking? Many times, the reason is a very selfish one in that we want something or don’t want to lose something or someone. When King Hezekiah saw that he was in the verge of losing his kingdom and being overthrown, he prayed and asked God to intervene, but he did it because he wanted God to get the glory for the deliverance and for all the kingdoms of the earth to praise God when they heard about what God did. Are we as concerned about God’s glory as God is? We must recognize that it’s His glory that matters, not our own. Will we seek God’s glory today?

RESPONSE:

Father, Thank You for all that You have done and for all that You are doing. I know that You desire to glorify Yourself and for Your name to be praise throughout the world and I pray that You will use me to do just that today. Thank You for all that You have done in and through me.
