Devotional – August 14, 2011

VERSE:
Psalm 59:9–Because of his strength I will watch for You, for God is my stronghold.

TRUTH:
God is our strength and our refuge. We cannot hope to stand on our own during the trials and difficulties that we encounter each day. Are we waiting and watching for Him  every day and relying on His strength, or are we trying to go forward on our own?

RESPONSE:
Lord, Your strength is the only thing strong enough to make it through my day. Forgive me when I rely on my own strength. Teach me to surrender to Your strength today.
