Devotional – December 17, 2011

VERSE:
Psalm 144:4–Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow.

TRUTH:
Because our senses are so attuned to what we see, hear, touch around us, it can be easy to lose sight of the fact that out lives here are temporary. Yet God created us as eternal beings that just spend a passing shadow of time on earth. Are we focusing on the eternal or do we become so focused on gaining “success” in just this shadow of life. We must stay reminded that this life is just a breath.

RESPONSE:
Lord, help me to focus today on the eternal. I pray that the choices I make today will be made with eternity in mind, not just what I can easily see, hear, and touch.
