Devotional – May 2, 2011

VERSE:
Song of Solomon 1:4–“Draw me after you and let us run together! The king has brought me into his chambers.” “We will rejoice in you and be glad; we will extol your love more than wine. Rightly do they love you.”

TRUTH:
The love that the bride has for the bridegroom draws them together and is celebrated by those who are around them. The love we share with Christ should also draw us closer to Him and be celebrated by others. Is the relationship we have with our husband/wife drawing us together? Is the love we share exciting and praiseworthy by others? Does the relationship with our spouse mirror our relationship with Christ?

RESPONSE:
Lord, help me to focus on the love for my husband (wife) so that our love draws us together and is recognized and praised by all those we are around. Lord, help my love for my spouse mirror the love that Jesus Christ and I share.
