Devotional – May 9, 2011

VERSE:
Song of Solomon 8:6–Put me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, jealousy is as severe as Sheol; it’s flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord.

TRUTH:
Our covenant of marriage is made to each other, but also made to the Lord. He seals it and protects it. He is jealous for it. Do we guard and protect our love as much as we ought to? Our commitment to love our spouse is to be a direct reflection of our love and commitment to Christ.

RESPONSE:
Lord, than You for being the example and standard for how to love. Help me to learn what it means to love You, and to love my husband with Your love.
