Devotional

Christian Devotional – November 20, 2010

VERSE:
John 16:33–These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation but take courage; I have overcome the world.

TRUTH:
What encouragement! Jesus Christ has overcome the world and he reminds us of the peace, courage, and hope that we have through Him. Whatever we are going through now, Jesus has overcome!

RESPONSE:
Lord, thank You for overcoming and giving peace and hope through You!

This is such encouragement. During hard times it’s easy to forget who you should really be focusing on, because it’s easy to get caught up with things right now that truely aren’t important. For myself, I just want to know he will persevere and take over. And he is, I just need to believe and have peace in our true God.

I completely agree! He is so much better at running my life than I am, but it can be so easy to misplace my focus. I am so glad He gets my attention and reminds me that He is the only one who brings peace.

I’m not sure that this actually has anything to do with the devotional here. Ignorace is simply not knowing something yet. Apathy, on the other hand, is the lack of desire to learn anything beyond what is already known.
