Read Psalm chapter 68 VERSE: Psalm 68:19–Praise be to Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. TRUTH: He daily bears our burden. This is simply a statement of fact, no conditions or requirements. We are to praise Him because He is our Savior and He bears our burdens. The question becomes, do we let Him bear our burdens? Instead, we often tell Him about them and then take them back to lug around on our own. We seek to carry them instead of releasing them to the One who can carry them. Are we allowing Him to do what He wants to do, daily bear our burdens?…

Read Matthew chapter 11 VERSE: Matthew 11:28–Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. TRUTH: This often quoted verse lies sandwiched between some interesting other verses, Right before this verse, Jesus tells the people that they can’t really know God unless they know Him and after this verse Jesus explains that he does have a load that we are to carry, but that load is easy. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone. TRUTH: The people were complaining…again. VERSE: Numbers 4:20–But the Kohathites must not go in to look at the holy things, even for a moment, or they will die. TRUTH: The Kohathites were responsible for carrying the holy things of the tabernacle, but they were not allowed to look at those things. They had to simply carry them from place to place as they moved around the desert. They would never know the beauty of the items they carried and it would have been tempting to discount the importance of what they carried. God has a plan for us to follow and obey Him, yet we will not always know or understand the depth of the…

VERSE: Exodus 18:23–If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied. TRUTH: Moses had a problem, he was trying to do everything by himself. Moses had seen that the people were having questions and disputes so they brought all these to him so he could share God’s will with the people. However, the problem became that there were too many issues for Moses to handle and he felt overwhelmed. Jethro told him that in order to be effective, Moses needed to share the load. The Lord is not looking for people who are willing to…
