Corinthians, Day 29 Constantly examining. As we reached the final chapter of the 2nd letter Paul wrote to the Corinthians, we see his final words to the people. Read 2 Corinthians 13. Paul remind them of his own authority to guide and direct them, but he tells them that they are responsible for examining themselves. It is their responsibility to look into their own life and see it as God would see it. They need to test themselves. They need to be critical of themselves. Only as they are honest with themselves about how they are doing will they be able to grow and to follow Christ more. Where would…

Corinthians, Day 28 God’s grace. Read 2 Corinthians 12. God’s grace is sufficient. We may understand that in our mind, but until we recognize that God’s grace is enough in every single circumstance we face, we won’t realize the depth of the grace that God gives us. God’s grace is enough even when we fall flat on her face. Even when we try and fail, and we will fail, God’s grace is enough. It’s never the case where we need God’s grace plus something else. It’s only God’s grace. Are we relying solely on God’s grace to get us through the situations we face each day?

Corinthians, Day 27 Our sufferings. Paul reminds everyone of all that he has been through for Christ. Read 2 Corinthians 11. When we look at our Christian lives, what are the things that we tell others? Do we only tell them about the successes and the wins? What aboit the struggles and hardships? As believers we must share together in all things, the good times and the bad. God can encourage us in our trials and so can others. Others can also be encouraged by seeing God work through our trials. Are we willing to share all areas of our Christian life?

Corinthians, Day 26 Boast only in the Lord. Read 2 Corinthians 10. In all that we do every single day, truly only the things that we do for the Lord matters. As Paul continues through this letter, he is reminding the people that when he was with them he had nothing to boast about of himself. The only thing that he could possibly boast in was in how the Lord worked through him. When we look at our lives, do we recognize God’s work through us? Do we boast in that work? God’s work is amazing and the way he moves through our lives is truly phenomenal and something to…

Corinthians, Day 25 Generosity. God has been extremely generous to us and we can be generous in return. Read 2 Corinthians 9. Are we known as generous? God is extremely generous to us. We see his gifts to us in so many areas around us. When we think about being generous and in giving to others, we are to have the heart of God. God is generous and he is constantly giving to us. Do we give to others like he gives to us? Do we give back to God? Are we as generous as God is?

Corinthians, Day 24 Perception is reality. Read 2 Corinthians 8. Paul is explaining a situation that came up in the early church that impacted the Corinthians. There were churches and members that were struggling from a financial standpoint. And there were other churches where the members had enough and wanted to help the struggling churches. The question became, how do you get the money from one church to another church? This is a situation that created a lot of questions around the integrity of the process and the integrity of the people. Paul understood how vitally important it was to ensure that there is integrity in everything the early church…

Corinthians, Day 23 Do we experience sorrow? Read 2 Corinthians 7. As Paul wrote this chapter, we see him referencing a letter he wrote to the Corinthians. Apparently that letter has been lost to history, but what we know about that letter is that it created a lot of sorrow for the Corinthian people. Apparently, Paul had to discipline them and chastise them for something that it happened. Paul recognizes that his letter caused sorrow. Paul clarifies that he did not mean to cause them sorrow or to cause them grief. However, Paul also recognizes that these believers read his letter, experienced sorrow, and repented and turned from their evil…

Corinthians, Day 22 Are we walking a path that others can follow? With our Christian walk, we must be aware of others around us. Read 2 Corinthians 6. Our Christian walk must be mindful of other believers around us. Are we focused on how we can be helpful, not a stumbling point for others we are around.

Corinthians, Day 21 Christ makes all things new. Read 2 Corinthians 5. As Paul is speaking through this chapter, we see just how radical of a change Christ makes in each of our lives. When we surrender our lives to Christ and accept his lordship, he comes in and completely changes everything. Our life becomes his. We surrender to all that he is and all that he wants for us. We are not even recognizable to those that we are around because of the change that Christ brings in our lives. Have we submitted completely to his lordship? Have we allowed Christ to change and make all things new the…

Corinthians, Day 20 Hope. It’s an easy word to say, but can be a very difficult word to truly feel. Read 2 Corinthians 4. While Paul doesn’t specifically use this word in this chapter, you see him explain all the different ways in which the believers have been persecuted and the ways in which they have been mistreated. Paul goes on to explain that we cannot separate the death of Christ from the resurrection of Christ. As believers, we are going to go through hard times and we are going to have difficulties. That’s a matter of fact. The situation is that we are not alone and that the death…
