Read Psalm chapter 21 VERSE: Psalm 21:7–For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken. TRUTH: This is such an unusual statement. Usually kings, especially during this time, considered themselves gods. The idea that a king would trust in God and His love (not His power or His justice) is an extremely unique idea. VERSE: 1 Chronicles 27:24–Joab son of Zeruiah began to count the men but did not finish. God’s wrath came on Israel on account of this numbering, and the number wasn’t entered in the book of the annuals of King David. TRUTH: God had promised to bless the nation of Israel and to multiply them. Why would it be so wrong to count the number?
