Corinthians, Day 11
Do we follow the example of Christ? Read 1 Corinthians 11.
Paul continues to remind the people of various practices and important procedures that they need to keep in mind as they are coming together to worship. Paul wants them to be an encouragement to each other and to build each other up, not to be a distraction or to result in division among them. He continues to remind them to follow Christ’s example.
Sometimes when people tell us to follow and be like Christ, that can feel overwhelming and seem like it’s much too hard for any of us to be able to do. That’s actually very true. We can’t follow Christ. Not on our own. Only through allowing Christ to live in us are we capable of living the life that God requires and demands of us. Paul was encouraging them to follow his example as he follows Christ’s example. Are we an example to others of what it means to live the Christian life? Do others look at our life and immediately know that we are a Christian?
