Christian Devotional – December 2, 2012

VERSE:
Acts 16:29-30–And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Pal and Silas, and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

TRUTH:
The jailer was at a place of desperation. Paul and Silas had called to him and begged him not to kill himself after he thought he had lost all his prisoners. The jailer rushes in and begs to know about salvation. He doesn’t ask, “Why are you still here?” or “How did the doors open?” As the jailer would have heard them praising God throughout the night, he know that God had saved them and he knew, no matter what, he must know the secret of salvation. Are our lives so focused on Jesus Christ, like Paul and Silas, that those around us know without hesitation that we have he answer; the only answer? Are we living proof of the salvation of Jesus Christ?

RESPONSE:
Father, I want my life to be the answer to all the questions other people may have. My actions will speak of You to everyone around so that they may be drawn to ask how they can have the answer of salvation in their life, too.

EXTRA:
We’re taking a look at the Christmas story each Sunday over on the Sisters in Cahoots page. Today we’re seeing the story of Joseph, head on over and check it out.
