Christian Devotional – July 21, 2012

VERSE:
Isaiah 29:20–For the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished, indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be cut off.

TRUTH:
Isaiah is explaining God’s judgment on the people who have been disobedient. While God will save and reward those who have placed their trust in Him, those who haven’t will meet their final judgment. God will punish evil; we can hope in this and trust in this. The Lord wants us to know that we cannot escape His judgment on our own; it will be final and absolute. What matters is whether we’ve accepted His sacrifice and substitute, Jesus Christ.

RESPONSE:
Lord, I know that You will never allow evil to stand. I praise You for being Holy and I thank You for Your promise of grace and mercy through Jesus Christ.

EXTRA:
