Read 1 Kings chapter 6

VERSE:

1 Kings 6:12–“As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your Father.”

TRUTH:

Solomon got busy doing what his father had asked him to do. David had wanted to build a temple for the Lord, but Solomon was the one that God chose to od that instead. Still The Lord spoke to Solomon and reminded him that it wasn’t just about building this temple, but that he needed to be sure that he was obeying all of God’s commands. Do we short-change our obedience to God? Do we tell God, “Ok, I’ll follow this command that You gave, but I’m going to ignore this other one over here.” Solomon was being reminded by God that it’s not just about doing one thin for God, it’s about building a life around what God has commanded. Does that describe us?

RESPONSE:

Father, I pray that You will continue to move me forward as I am trusting in You. I know that You are my Lord and master and I will follow You in every area of my life, not just in one area. Thank You for Your reminders to continue doing what You have called me to do.
