Christian Devotional – April 19, 2013

VERSE:

Ezekiel 5:14–I will make you a ruin and a reproach among the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

TRUTH:

The people had sinned and had refused to repent. Therefore, God was going to bring judgment on them so that everyone around the world would recognize who God is and would turn to Him. God wants to use us to show His glory to others and He would prefer to do that by blessing our obedience. However, if we are disobedient and refuse to repent, He will still make His name known and show His holiness through the defense of His name and judgment of sin. What type of example do we want to be to others? How will God use us to show His glory?

RESPONSE:

Father, I desire to be obedient and to repent when I stumble. I want to be an example to others of what You desire, not a warning of the consequences of sin.
