VERSE:
Ezekiel 20:44–You will know that I am the Lord, when I deal with you for my name’s sake and not according to your evil ways and your corrupt practices, you people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.
TRUTH:
What a beautiful verse! Even though the people had done evil and been disobedient to God, God promises to deal with them according to His Name and not according to the evil they had done. God is perfectly justified to destroy us in judgment because of our sins and wrongs, yet He chooses instead to provide an alternative that is only through His mercy and grace. This alternative shows the power of His name. Do we accept His alternative through Jesus Christ or will we be left to reap the judgment of our own actions?
RESPONSE:
Father, You have made a way for our salvation while still maintaining Your holiness, which never ceases to amaze me! I will choose You and will glorify Your name in all I do and will rejoice in Your promise that You will glorify Yourself.
