But God, Why? Day 3

Holy versus unholy. Read Habakkuk chapter 1, focusing on verses 12-13.

Habakkuk is speaking again and this time he brings his complaint to God that God is holy, and all the people around are not. Habakkuk doesn’t understand why God in his holiness is allowing all of the people who are not holy to continue to stand.

As we look around the world, we could make the same argument that Habakkuk is making. God is still holy and all the people around him are not. How does God continue to allow these things to stand? While these are questions that we will continue to ask, God has not changed, either from Habakkuk’s time to this time.

As we seek to understand him and all that he does, we can rest assured that God is overall and God has everything under control. It’s comforting to know that people ask the same questions then that they ask now. While we may not completely understand God’s answers, it allows us to enjoy the constancy of God.
