VERSE:
Leviticus 4:27–Now if anyone of the common people sins unintentionally in doing any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and becomes guilty.
TRUTH:
When we do something wrong, whether we intend to do it or not, we are still guilty. God knows our intentions, but he also sees our deeds and the evil that we do and when we do those things. Bottom line: if we do wrong, we are guilty. God made a way for the people of Israel to be forgiven of their sins, even when they didn’t mean to do those things. Even when we didn’t mean to do wrong, we are still guilty and in need of God’s forgiveness. God made a way for us to be forgiven as well and that is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
RESPONSE:
Father, You knew I would unintentionally mess up and You needed me to know that is still just as wrong. But, You don’t leave me abandoned in my sin. You made a way for me to be forgiven. I will confess my sins to You, even the ones I didn’t intend to do, and I will rejoice in Your forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
