Christian Devotional – December 6, 2012

VERSE:
Acts 20:24–“but I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus to testify solemnly of the grace of God.”

TRUTH:
Paul was giving a farewell speech to some pastors and friends that he had come to know very well, but didn’t expect to see again. He makes this statement, reminding them of the single-minded focus that he had to follow the calling and ministry that he had. God has given each of us a ministry and a purpose; are we as single-minded in our commitment to that purpose?

RESPONSE:
Father, I will focus only on Your plans for me. You are my goal and I will follow You no matter where You lead me. I consider everything else, even my life, as nothing compared to fulfilling the plan You have for me.
