Christian Devotional – November 8, 2012

VERSE:
Proverbs 23:4–Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, cease from your consideration of it

TRUTH:
The pursuit of stuff is near epidemic proportions. We are constantly bombarded with messages that we should not be satisfied with what we have, but be striving for something more. Are we spending all our time and energy trying to gain more? God warns us not to weary ourself trying to gain more stuff. On He will ever truly satisfy, no matter how much stuff we get.

RESPONSE:
Father, OK, I give up. I will seek after only You and I will not weary myself to the point of exhaustion in my question to accomplish more stuff. I confess I have gotten side-tracked from seeking You in the midst of busying myself doing more stuff for You.
