Christian Devotional – October 27, 2012

VERSE:
Proverbs 11:2–When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.

TRUTH:
Faaling proud of your accomplishments? Thinking about how great you are and all that you have been able to do on your own? Be careful, dishonor is quickly following! The humble one recognizes that they are only the means through which God works. The humble doesn’t try to take credit for that which God has done. This is wise. We must recognize when God is moving and working and boast only in Him and in what He has done through us. He is the one who allows success and paves the way for us to be involved in His work. He does not enjoy it when we take credit for the works that He has done.

RESPONSE:
Father, You are the only reason I have any success. I desperately desire for You to be glorified in all that You do. I praise You and beg You to continue to show Youself through me. I will not steal Your glory, but will continue to boast in You and You alone.
