Book Review – Forever Blessed by Darlene Shortridge
Laney is on the run with her three children. She has finally managed to get away from her abusive husband Paul, at least for now, but she knows it’s only a matter of time before he finds them. Laney runs to a friend from college, Sheila, who now operates a safe house for abused women. There Laney comes face to face with the power of God to work through even the difficulties of her life. Even as Laney is starting to feel more comfortable with the idea of God in her life, she knows that Paul is still out there somewhere and now strange things are beginning to happen to the people she now has in her life.
In Forever Blessed, Darlene Shortridge has woven a fascinating and exciting story that touches on a very real issue for many people. She takes the characters through several real and believable circumstances and is able to show how prayer and faith in Jesus are able to provide comfort in the midst of them. The story is captivating from beginning to end and she keeps the plot building and moving as you wonder how Laney is truly going to end up confronting her past. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through this and I know that others will find it a wonderful and heart-wrenching read.
“Forever Blessed” is the second book in the Women of Prayer Series by Darlene Shortridge. I also reviewed and recommend the first book, “Until Forever” here. You can learn more about Darlene and her books by visiting her website.
