Christian Devotional – August 3, 2012

VERSE:
Isaiah 42:7–To open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon and those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

TRUTH:
God sent His Son Jesus Christ to the world with a specific purpose. He came because we are blind, imprisoned, and in darkness without Him. We can do nothing apart from Him because we are helpless without Him. Jesus Christ is the One true Savior who can free us from the prison in which sin has chained us.

RESPONSE:
Lord, You have set me free. I will not live my life like a blind person who is imprisoned. You have set me free and given me sight as a result of Your grace and mercy and my acceptance of Your gift. Today, I will live my life as freed prisoner sharing this truth to those who are still imprisoned.
