Christian Devotional – July 23, 2015

Read 1 Samuel chapter 17

VERSE:

1 Samuel 17:47–All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves, for the battle is the Lord’s and he will give all of you into our hands.

TRUTH:

David is preparing to fight against the Philistine champion Goliath. He makes this statement so that both the Philistines and the Israelites will know why he is going out to fight. Like David, we make a statement about God by the actions that we take and don’t take. Our actions are a direct reflection of God working and moving in our life. Do we act with courage and boldness or do we hide away in fear. Through God, we can be courageous and bold to do all that He has for us to do.

RESPONSE:

Father, I desire to be bold for You and to act and move in all the ways that You would have for me to move. I will trust in You and give You all the praise for all that You do through me. Please use me to reach others and show them Your power and might.
