VERSE:
James 2:14–What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?
TRUTH:
That is a very good question; what good is it? If we say we believe in God and that we have faith that He will do all that He has said He will do, but yet our actions don’t reflect that belief and faith, then what good is our faith? Our actions are going to always reflect what is truly in our heart at that moment. We may slip up and fall and sin, but if we say that we believe in God and have faith in Him, then we should have actions that also reflect that. If our actions don’t match, then our faith is not truly grounded in Jesus Christ and, as the question asks, can that half-hearted faith truly save someone? It’s not a question of do your actions reflect your faith, it’s a question of what is your faith in, for that is what will be shown in your actions.
RESPONSE:
Father, sometimes I slip up and try to put my faith back in myself. I pray that You will forgive me, cleanse me, and help me to grow stronger in my faith as I put it into You. I know that You are over all things and I will praise You and ask that You will keep me grounded in Jesus Christ as I seek to live out my faith.
