VERSE:
Isaiah 22:11–And you made a reservoir between the two walls for the waters of the old pool. But you did not depend on Him who made it, nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago.
TRUTH:
Isaiah tells of an upcoming seige that will destroy Jerusalem. During this tough time of difficulty, the people did everything they could think of to try and protect themselves, except as God for help. They did not turn to their Creator but instead looked to the creation to save them. Who do we turn to when faced with difficulty? Where do we go for help and protection? We need to stop trying to build our own defenses and instead run to the One who knew the situation would happen long before it did.
RESPONSE:
Lord, I’m sorry I turn to so many other things in an effort to protect myself from difficulties. I only need You. I will cling to You in every situation knowing You are the only answer.

So true. We need to always keep our eyes on the Creator.

Yes! It’s just amazing how many distractions are placed in front of us to get our eyes off of Him! We must constantly be focusing on Him and only Him.
