VERSE:
Isaiah 20:2–at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go and loose the sackcloth from your hips and take your shoes off your feet.” And he did so, going naked and barefoot.
TRUTH:
God used Isaiah as a visual example to the people of what we have apart from God, which is nothing. God gives us everything we have and if He takes away His blessings on us, we would be left completely bare. Do we trust in anything besides God? Do we look to anything else to help or deliver us in our times of trouble? Without God, we have absolutely nothing and would be left completely naked and alone. We must turn to Him.
RESPONSE:
Lord, You are amazing and really, You are all I have. You are also all I need. Help me to rely only on You and not on any “things,” for without You I am completely bare.
